I have not had a single bird at my feeders this year, have no clue as to what happened to them. Maybe last years heat??

well its not helping that I keep killing them in my shop!
Cover your windows and turn off your lights at lunch. This works for me. If the only bright light is the open bay doors then they fly right out.
I had 4 or 5 die getting trapped in 2ft x 2ft x 3ft skylights on my back porch. They would fly up the huge tube and beat themselves to death up there- never flying down. I had to cover the skylight bottoms with a screen.
