The glasses can be a huge problem. We need to finally get together and shoot some time. I might can give you a few tips. Hell I might not know anything you dont.
I have yet to meet an experienced shooter I can't learn something from. Often several things.

Thanks, I would like to go to this sometime. Is there a pistol recommendation? Guessing a 1911 may not be the best choice.
If it's a reliable 1911 with usable sights, I don't see any reason you can't use it. A backup full size handgun isn't a bad idea either. Given the cost of ammunition 9mm is probably a good choice.

I have the same problem. I'm looking at Crimson Trace laser grips for my Hungarian Hi Power clone. I can see that laser with or without my bifocals.
Bifocals suck. That is all.
I agree.
I don't care what anyone says, red dots and lasers are great for old eyes!
