I don't believe for a second they (Biden Administration) or more accurately the powers behind the puppet in the White House want to stop AI. What they want is to secretly harness it for their own benefit.

Even if the western world were to reach some kind of consensus on reigning in AI, we all know that the ChiComs will proceed at full speed to develop it to gain the upper hand to win a tech war not realizing they will be unable to control it in the future.
