Found this article and wanted to share it. Pretty good info and thought someone might have use of it. I have been checking shotgun fit from the inside of my elbow to the curve of my finger for a long time. See a lot of others doing that too.

The standard way of measure. Is the trigger finger to elbow trick.
This would be evidenced by the fact Brownells and others sell devices for measuring that way. (generally that measurement -1 inch for heavy jackets)

It might also be noted that you measure different types of guns different ways.

The gist of that guy's article is more suited for shotguns than rifles.
Since a shotgun usually only uses 1 sight, the Pitch is important.(particularly SxS)

Pitch is not often used on rifles since they have 2 sights which must be aligned
or a scope. (most rifles are square with the comb of the stock)

I'm not faulting his article. Different parts of the country, the world, and all Gunsmiths have their own way of measuring.
Personally, I have some rifles that you have to "Mount".
They have 15 1/2 - 16 inch pull which is great for fixed position target shooting. But impossible for quick snap shooting.
