And then the lottery to bail out education....

All of these big-money industries to give money to edumacayshun - horse racing, casinos, lottery, bingo, etc... and yet we still struggle to fund the schools AND our state is still in the hole.

Sounds to me like we're being had, honestly.

Help me out here. Back in the day, Okla supported education with oil basically until it became a global market and began to fluctuate.
When it started going downhill we got horse racing to bring education out of the bottom of the barrel with new schools, teacher raises and all kind of promises to help education.

Then we got the incentive to have native american bingo to support education, which evolved into the casino's going to bail out education.
Where did this money go?
When they sold us on gambling for the kids, they didnt tell you that that money would REPLACE the current education budget funding. So they robbed peter to pay paul and the net result was actually less funds for education. But they won cause it allowed them to take that other money and waste it on something else that will make someone rich.

Yep. That's pretty much what I was getting at.

No it doesn't. Must be unloaded and in plain sight.

In addition, the "plain sight" provision allows for the firearm to be in a partially visible case, in a gun rack, or in an exterior locked compartment.

Rifles and shotguns may be carried unloaded behind a seat or in the interior as well.

The gun doesn't have to be sitting out for the world to see to be legal.

In the days before the SDA, I would have a semi-auto pistol, mag out, slide back, with a full mag handy while driving. That way I wouldn't be transporting a loaded firearm, and if my car became disabled I could get out, walk away from it, sit down and load, I would not be carrying concealed and still be able to defend myself if necessary

A friend that does not have the CC license has one of the holsters that straps under the steering column. He leaves the mag on the console and has been stopped a couple of times, once by OHP and once by Osage Sherriff deputy. Both saw it, and neither had an issue with it carried/displayed that way.
