fire the engineer that put the 2 points on the end of the ejector!
No, that's not what it's doing. As you eject or cycle it, the pointy bolt lock hits the primer as the shell is coming out of the chamber or loading or unloading the gun...basically you have a little claymore at the bottom port of the gun.

just poor design surprised they didn't catch it.

Mossberg just put out a recall for certain models of .410 shotguns because it seems that releasing shells from the magazine can potentially cause them to discharge.

Holy crap! Was about to get one for the wife. That would not have gone over very well.

A lot of folks in that profession are not gun folks and only remove their firearm from their holster to qualify.
The report doesn't say what happened but did say a chest wound.

Sad, but true.

When I lived south of Houston, I had a decent, side income with the local PD.

Most of them brought their guns to me for cleaning, after they went to qualifying or monthly required practice.

It was amazing how many brought a loaded gun in. Regardless of signs or warnings. Small town JBT, had to keep them happy.
