Removing engraved/rollmarked letters on slide of 1911?

Short of sanding/filing them down, is there any good way to remove the engraved/rollmarked letters on the slide of a 1911 frame? FWIW, the gun will be cerakoted. They barely catch a fingernail, so they aren't too deep. For those who will ask...I'm not looking to remove the serial number. Just the "Springfield Armory", the logo, and "Model 1911-A1"

If you plan to cerakote anyway, would it be possible to fill them in rather than sanding or polishing them out?

Probably...but fill with what? Bondo?

Bondo....no, but automotive spot filler might be worth a try.
