This year's new design of the Corvette kills off an American icon. It started with the redesign that saw the iconic brake lights go away and now the newest model will resemble past generations of Vette's in name only. It was a good 66 year run, but the Corvette is dead.

I kind of agree with tanis. Starting to look more European than iconic American

If ya go back to the inception of corvette it did not look like the "Iconic" corvette, IIRC it looked more like a T bird..

True, but there were still styling cues and the drivetrain was always front engine/rear wheel drive. The last model change they wanted it to "appear" more supercar than traditional corvette. Now they have made the change completely with their mid engine shift.

If they wanted a car that can compete with the Lambo's, Ferrari's, etc, they should have created a different car rather than screwing up an American tradition since 1953. This is actually worse than when Ford turned the Mustang into a box with wheels with the fox body.
