I will add I bought the first one to come into NW OKlA. (that I know of). A present for my sons graduation from SWOSU. The pistol has run perfect and is everything he needs in a good 1911. We took it out the first time and shot 300 rounds of 200 SWC and then he took his OSDA class. Man I should have kept it for myself.

Yea, spent hour and a half in line prior to opening, then another hour or two waiting my turn for paperwork and checkout. When I left the BX at 1130 there were two left.

I think the intrigue is that it's a USA made series 70 that had a good fit, decent finish and trigger, and doesn't cost that much more than the other "entry" 1911s. The only thing I would change from the factory is the sights, and that's an easy fix.

I don't get it. I saw multiple Series 70 Colts at the Tulsa show used that could be had for $700 from private collections.

What's the deal with an entry level Ruger?
