I think the intrigue is that it's a USA made series 70 that had a good fit, decent finish and trigger, and doesn't cost that much more than the other "entry" 1911s. The only thing I would change from the factory is the sights, and that's an easy fix.

This^^^^. I like Rugers, but would rather have a used Springer Mil or Colt 1911...

The Ruger is very much so worth the wait. Someone mentioned a S&W instead. That is like telling someone to get a Kimber instead of a Baer, Dan Wesson, or a Wilson. Not even close to the same quality. They are by far the best 1911 out there for the money no questions asked. Put a deposit down on one at a deal, and just be patient. You won't regret it.
