My son lost his first tooth tonite and mentioned that a kid at his daycare "got like forty dollars I think". I told him we are in a recession and the toothfairy is cutting back. He asked what a recession was and I told him he would figure it out when he looked under his pillow in the morning.

Or you could have a serious talk with them about how a man who goes around collecting children's teeth is no man they want in their bedroom at night.

Well my opinion is if you want to teach proper money saving, now is a good time. If you give him more than a few bucks, have him save half of it. I know many banks won't let you start an account with a small amount, but if you start a "piggy bank" he will have enough in it by teenager to start an account.
