Springfield Armory 1911, what size sight cut?

I want to put a set of night sights on my SA Range Officer. Do I order Novak or Kimber cut sized sights?

You need to measure before you order. Springfield uses their own cut.

Neither Midway or Brownells could tell me, Midway said they didnt carry sights to fit a 1911 Springfield Armory. I said "be sure to show this customer inquiry to Larry Potterfield personally "
It shouldnt be this complicated

They can’t tell you because manufacturers have a tendency to change dovetail specs without notifying the sight manufacturers. The best option is to remove your current sight and measure it and the dovetail with a set of calipers, also check the angle of the dovetail cut. Then order a sight that will fit or require fitting.

Isn’t it a 3/8” dove tail? i had some replaced at Hunter’s Den in Choteau Ok. Call Wayne he may know good man. And gunsmith
