Springfield Armory 1911, what size sight cut?

You need to measure before you order. Springfield uses their own cut.

From what I understand, Springfield used a Novak cut on the rear, but had a proprietary front cut.

It’s a Novak-style rear sight cut and likely 60 degree dovetail front sight cut. Novak is weird about who has been licensed to use their sight cuts. Springfield is not on the list.

It’s best to measure if you aren’t certain because manufacturers have been know to change things up without telling anyone. It makes it difficult for aftermarket manufacturers to keep up.

Springfield Armory uses a Novak cut sight. Kimber sight is proprietary to their guns And has a different cut.
Novaks should work just fine.

Per Dawson Sights….

“These sights work on the Springfield Armory dovetail cuts that measure a .340". If you have the .330" dovetail cut, you will need to use the Dawson Precision Novak Cut sights.”
