Alfi Evans is a toddler that is in Great Britain. Socialized medicine Great Britain.
Doctors can't say exactly what's wrong with him, but he is on a ventilator and force fed to keep alive.
The parents have been offered care in other countries with even Italy offering citizenship to the child with a team of Doctors waiting at London's airport to transport for days.
The British government that handles these matters, have decided the child must die. He was taken off the ventilator, but somehow still survives. Doctors said he would expire within moments of being taken off the ventilator, but it didn't happen.
WTF is going on? Other countries medical communities are offering help, and they refuse it and decide to allow the child to die?
Death panels as Sarah Palin predicted.

There was an article on this that stated what the deal was. In National Review, IIRC. It started out all about cost. Except for that little fact that the Pope himself sent and still has a plane on standby to fly them to Italy for treatment. When that took cost out of the picture it became about control of the subjects to the crown. Can't be having any go to other countries and finding out there are better systems. That can't be tolerated...

If he goes to another country and is treated and survives or improves, that will mean that the UK doctors were wrong. Then in the future other families in similar situations may have doubts when the doctors and the death panels say they have no option. This would cause the subjects to think maybe they should be able to control their own life choices which cannot be tolerated. They might even start thinking they should be able to defend their own lives and the lives of their children and then the whole island would just sink into the ocean forever. The end.
