I bought a dozen crankbaits from Bass pro for fishing. When they came in, they had the wrong color on them. I prefer a red gill plate, and some red on the belly. They came in as a pumpkin color. Figured I'd paint over the parts that I didn't like.
Went to Hobby Lobby, and bought some paint brushes, and looked at the paint. Man, that was expensive.
Needed to go to wallyworld anyway, so figured I'd look for model airplane paint. Well, they don't carry any, and the fingernail polish rack was on the way out.
Perfect! Looked at the colors, found a blood red, and was trying to decide if the bright yellow could be use on something. Noticed two highschool age girls kept looking at me out of the corner of my eye, and whispering between each other.
Finally one came over and said she didn't think the dark red polish would compliment my complexion.........
I was freeking mortified, embarassed, and speachless for the first time in my life.:nolike:
Mumbled something, put it back on the shelf, and stumbled out the front door in a state of shock.....

After getting home and telling my wife about it, she couldn't stop laughing. Didn't make me feel any better.
Still need some paint.

I would have played along and told them that my dress and heels DO match it. Leave them mortified.

I've bought clear nail polish quite often as it was required to help labels adhere better onto equipment at AT&T.

Ahahahaha....too funny!!!

Back in the early 1990's Maury Tate was making Mo-Betta shirts for rodeo cowboys and Garth Brooks. Well, I went down to his store in Apache,Oklahoma and didn't find the color combo I wanted.

So, one day up in OKC, I went into a fabric store...Hancocks...right off Hefner Expresway..23rd/36th...something like that. Well, I had two older ladies helping me pick out material...something lightweight, colorful, and durable...when I was team ropin'.

During my two hour shopping spree of material and thread that would match, and buying yards off the cloth bolt....I'd notice those two ladies looking at me ..up amd down...and whispering.

Just before I packed up and left, one lady had a question while the other lady listened and watched my reaction. Questions: Do you like girls/women? Is someone going to sew this for me or am I doing it myself? Are you from Oklahoma or out of town? They thought I was gay!!!??? Buying material for shirts!!!

Just let it all out! She was just trying to be helpful.

I really had to laugh because the same kind of thing happened to me back in my macho days. Now, it is all just a funny memory.
