Time for our last ride

My buddy and I are about to go on our last ride. About 2 weeks ago he developed a big tumor on his leg. The vet said we could try amputation but in all honesty it would buy him just a few more very painful months. Sorry to say I am about to have to go put him down but he just seems to be in to much pain.

My big guy will be missed.

That's tough, I've gotten soft hearted in my old age and it would bother me also.

I feel your pain bud. I had to my lab down this time last year. she was only 8 but after a few surgeries her body just said it was enough. One of the hardest but be best decision I had to make for her. My other lab is getting older too and I dread having to do it again. If you are like me and Im sure the rest of us, they become children to us and letting them go is so hard. He looks like a great pup. Just please be there with him when they do it. I think it really helps them and you to have a familiar person holding them.
