Trapping hogs with round trap questions.

It could be the only one. About 3 - 4 years ago, a kid spotted a single pig on a creek about 3 miles west of me. Fortunately he shot it and no one has seen any more in the area since.

Maybe the national association for the expansion of swine sounders sends out recon scouts before invading an area. If the scout doesn’t report back, they migrate a different direction.

That may be. This is the 3rd single pig to show up in this 10mi area in 10yrs. That I've heard of.

Bout have my friends place cleaned up after tonight. His neighbor caught us on the way out and asked if we had been seeing any hogs, he was seeing several but seemed like they had disappeared. Hmm not sure what happened to them? Mama is in the background of photo.

I've only seen one here in Marshall county (west of Kingston, north of Hwy 32), back in the '90s.

It was a big boar (I'd guess 500lbs or better?), and he was traveling west like he had someplace to be.

have had good luck with them... found it best to tpost the gate doors open for a couple of weeks with a feeder just so they get use to the food and the trap... after that, they'll push their way in. Here is a new trap we just set last weekend.

I would suggest in either building or buying a box trap. Having a top is pretty important. That or at least 48" tall if you want to kill them while they are in the trap.
