I was living in Southern Ohio in the 2004 brood that was supposed to be several different cycles all coming to hatch at the same time and it was RIDICULOUS.
Walking on the sidewalks, they were easily 75% covered in lots of areas...just CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH while you walked. I had to buy a bucket and squeegee to scrub my windshield every day when I got home from class or work...it was horrible. Just walking around and there'd be a bunch landing on you and going for the ride. Never seen anything like it before LOL

I feel like I used to hear them every summer as a child in SW OK, but it sounds like this isn't possible? What was I hearing?

As a kid, when I lived in Colorado, I loved the sound of them when I visited grandma. I love driving around with the windows down, getting a slush at Sonic. Look forward to them every year.
