Then we were shown the Order form the Governor that reinforces the original post. So when "it" hits the fan, the NG has the authority to take whatever they need to ensure they are properly prepared. Good thing no one has a boat down there, the NG might take them as well if needed, or wait a minute, how 'bout all houses of ill repute, the order says the VI will pick up the tab for the entire operation. Anyway, the forum seems to be in agreement that this is a bad idea. THANKS for taking the poll!!! :mosh:

That authority does not exist, and it appears the NRA is threatening a lawsuit to stop it.

That's why you have to join a gun rights organization, folks.

Too late. Nothing works through the courts that fast, but what will happen with the lawsuit is that future issues will be taken care of.
Oklahoma has a law now after Katrina that states specifically no gun grabs can happen during periods of natural disaster.

I'm sure an emergency injunction could be put in place, no? that could happen in a very short period of time.

A lawsuit is cold comfort when you're sitting there cold, wet and defenseless because the .gov stole your right to self determination, and looters are carting your **** away and you can't do a damned thing about it without forfeiting your life.

Lawsuits aren't a suitable answer in cases like these. A bunch of armed agents informing the bureaucratic functionary that they can either rescind the order NOW, or ride out the disaster in a jail cell. That's an effective answer.

I'm curious if the LEO on this island even have weapons.
We have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean over the years, and for the most part the LEO are unarmed. The British isles much more so than Mexico where they are all armed. Especially now with the drug cartels. You walk into a bar with a guy in full military gear holding a FN full auto at the door. Who's side is he on? We don't do Mexico now with Cancun, and Puerto vallarta added to the no visit list.
I got a traffic stop a few years back. With the rust on his revo, I have doubts it would even fire. But that negates the issue in the VI.
