That was some kind of sign that referred to Walmart policy as of March of 2018. I didn't take a close picture of the sign, and zooming in on the photo didn't help me read it, other than the reference to a March date in that year.

If the signage is from 2018, it probably states that you have to provide ID to purchase ammo. At least I think that's when it started.
