We are in a pretty severe drought right now. At the same time, I drive out of my 'hood and see water running down the street from everyone's automatic sprinklers. And to top it off, the other day my HOA sent out letters threatening everyone with legal action if they didn't keep their yard watered and cut this year.

I'm the farthest thing from a tree hugger, but it seems like the wrong time to be wasting water on grass for the purposes of aesthetics.

Have any Oklahoma cities/counties instituted watering restrictions yet?

In defense of green lawns, a 50'x50' lawn will create enough oxygen for a family of four, though I seriously doubt that's the goal of anybody soaking their lawn. :P

My bermuda is still mostly dormant because of the drought. It sucks, but I'm more upset that I spread fertilizer that's probably dried up and powdered away in the wind, despite "watering it in".
