If you choose a Ruger Semi Pistol, get @08H3 to teach how to break them down and put back together. The guy can do it faster than a guy can scratch his ass!

Only my opinion but if you want a quality, lifetime pistol with adjustable sights that you can pass down to your grandkids get you a S&W model 17.

I'm really liking my Diamondback Sidekick. Styled like a SAA but is SA/DA with a swing out cylinder.

I’ve got a Ruger Super Single Six 22/22 mag I bought new in 1987, and I’ve got a 1st gen Ruger 22/45 that I picked up a few years ago. I wouldn’t part with either and don’t see myself ever needing anything else for the purpose stated by the OP.

I was just looking at them last night online at Kentucky Gun Company. For $219 plus, I just couldn't pull the trigger, so to speak.

Another vote for the Ruger MK. I've had several and they are all great shooters.

I Love my Ruger 22/45. It's light, easy to handle and get sight picture. Also, I'm a 1911 guy so the controls are familiar. I also have a suppressor, so the threaded barrel is a bonus. It's still very easy to handle with a suppressor mounted.
