I keep seeing the word (bump) used in different ways...what does it mean?

Ok, that's disturbing! Do I take it you don't know what bump means in this venue? Or are you just hazing the new guy?
That's my favorite "bump" gif...
The use of "bump" is intended to move one's post up from the depths of solitude (get it back on the first page) in hopes of selling an item.
