As for the era of Tom Mix, there was another by the name of Jack Hoxie. He was from my home town, although I never met him. His widow lived long after him, and she was a good friend and one of our accountants. On an anniversary of his birth, she arranged to have a showing at the theater of a couple of his old movies.
