Winter gas bill from hell: Oklahomans face paying $1.4bn over snowstorm

I have a wood burning insert in my fireplace.
I have not had Gas heat on in weeks.
I harvest wood during the summer with summer storms breaking trees I usually have plenty to burn.
Piedmont area there are houses being built and on my way home from getting ammo cans from a member here.
I stopped by the new homes being built and asked if I could take some of the trash wood.

The answer was a big yes take all you want.
My Corolla was packed to the gills.
Still burning it.
The wood that is not the Corolla.

Many here do not have the wood burning option.
That would suck.

I am actually considering installing one.

That's crazy! That's like the gas station sending you a bill when going to an EV.

It’s BS! Not long ago they were offering a $750 credit to switch from electric to gas…I did a few switch overs. May have been more can’t remember the incentive. How would they know if people just decided to switch back? The service to supply electric is still in place in most instances. That would be funny.

Be careful before considering that. Some research about the legality of doing that may need to be looked into.

As long as its after the meter its the homeowners responsibility to care for, cap away.

My house is completely electrical. I was going to get a NG line to the house to run a back-up generator. This has change my mind .
