Well, it appears autocorrect bit me again.

Both are legitimate words, they just don't mean the same thing. Ordinance would be like a city or municipal law against something such as an ordinance that all dogs must be on a leash. Ordnance is a weapons system or type of munition. I wasn't trying to be nit picky, but I have worked for the Army Ordnance Corps for almost 30 years and just hate to see it used incorrectly.

Too deep. A lot of ordnance that was dropped had delay fuses on them, so they would get some penetration before exploding. Nothing to set it off with a highway over it.

My thinking was more about how explosives will deteriorate over time, becoming more sensitive. Of course, that is a function of their original chemistry.

YOu guys are silly. If this was odot working on it the road would have been closed from 7pm that night until 5am the next day. Those guys can crap patch a f up FAST.
