Can you carry a handgun while fishing/hunting?

I go fishing quite often with my uncle and I wondering if its legal to carry my handgun w/o CCW permit. Of course im not carrying the weapon to fend of BGs but for critters, cayotes, etc.

(Please say its legal because I found a sweet camo holster on ebay lol)

It depends on where you are fishing, if it is on a state lake, then no you can't carry, if it is on private property then yes you can

True there are places that don't allow carrying of handguns, but carrying of a handgun isn't just restricted to private property. It is legal here to carry a handgun on land around Lake Texoma without a permit if you are in the act of hunting or fishing. As said the handgun must be openly carried though. I'm pretty certain its legal to carry on almost all WMA's as well, but I won't testify to it.

I think the best thing to do is check the regulations pertaining to the area you may be hunting or fishing.
