I've been trying to get ahold of some 7.62x25mm JHP ammo in the Wolf Gold series, but I have had no luck whatsoever. Every shop I checked that had it listed was out of stock. This has been unchanged for months. Yet I've seen reviews, so I know it's made it to the US.

Does anyone know either where to score some, or why it's unavailable? And if it's impossible to aquire, are there are any other factory JHP/HP loads available in the caliber?

7.62 X 25? Are you sure you have the right caliber. Wolf doesn't show that on their website.

You might call them and ask them. They have contact numbers on their website.

You are looking under rifle ammo. It's an old Russian pistol caliber and extremely common, at least in traditional FMJ form. It uses roughly the same case and bullet as the German 7.63x25mm (.30 Mauser), but it's loaded a fair bit hotter. It's used in the Tokarev pistols, older Russian submachine guns, and (as in my case) the Czechoslovakian CZ 52.

Wolf has two loads in the gold line, FMJ and HP (sometimes listed as JHP, same stuff), both 85 gr. I have some of the FMJ, but the HP seems to be virtually non-existant.

Several stores have (or have had) it listed, but apparently it's been sold out in every US retailer since before I've been looking for it. I'm starting to get the feeling it was only imported once...

Sportsmansguide shows a Frangible if that helps any.

I have 8 of those...got them loaded as my HD rounds but I don't really trust them. I've read iffy reviews on the frangible rounds by Magsafe.

I just checked here...

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/browse/pistol-ammo-762x25.aspx?c=95&s=987&stk=1

...and it says they are backordered but expected in March. $19.27 for a box of 50. I better hurry and put in an order for a few boxes.

Of course I do have another option, which is loading my own with Hornady bullets, but I have no equipment or reloading experience so that's a worst case scenario. Still, I've heard they make excellent loads for the CZ 52.
