Secret bunker in an undisclosed location.
Permethrin. Timing is also critical. Early early morning is the best time to get after the little buggers. Succession planting is also a good tactic if you have the room. Keep the squash bugs in check as best you can then but have a second and third crop coming up in rotation. When the bugs get out of hand kill 'em with fire, there are some real neat garden flame weeders that will do the trick.

I have about a 10x20 area That I planted last year. This year I am trying to make my small space be more profitable. I built a 9 foot long box to hang off of my deck, gonna plant green onions and some radishes in it. Going to expand the original area, add about a 5x8 area. (I just took out a tree to do that) Also adding a 4x16 area on the front of my house, and gonna do some plants in 5 gallon buckets on my deck.

I plant lots of cucumbers, squash, bell peppers, zuchinni and some other things that I like. Last year I got skunked on my squash though.......

I won't even mention what I was planning to do this year. I'd be laughed out of this thread :P

Go ahoead in jump in. does'nt matter if it is containers, square foot gardening, raised beds or whatever. I'm still an amature, mother nature seems to have the last say most of the time.

Oh ... so you're gonna let me just go it alone huh??

I still have that cat o' nine tails ...

If it makes you feel any better ... I don't have a thousand onions in the ground (Roadking Larry) :grumble: ;) ... I have 9 tomato plants, 6 pepper plants and 8 green bean plants started.

Not the cat o' nine tails!

OK, OK... I haven't put anything in the ground yet (waiting for last frost) but I'll probably put in... oh, maybe six tomato plants and a couple cucumber plants.

Yeah, that's about it. :teehee:

But that's enough, right??

I am gonna throw some okra, corn and cucumbers in the ground when it warms up. And I want to try the potato in the trash can thing this year.

Am trying to talk GC into putting in a little strawberry bed but I don't know if I am gonna get it pulled off. May have to wait until I can put him in the nursing home to do that ... ;)

The wife put in about 500 onions i think, also got some garlic started back in Feb.
Our big thing is brocoli...fresh brocoli is awesome! It only grows in the cool so she will start that this weekend and it will be done when the first 90* day hits. then it comes out and tomatos, squash and all sorts of peppers go in.
I haven't heard anyone mention Okra? We do okra every year also. mostly to pickle.

Edit:BB beat me to the Okra...
