It's official we are being invaded. 300,000 more illegals coming.

John McCain isn't interested in deporting these illegal invaders. He is only pissed off because he and his fellow liars/sellouts (politicians) aren't being given special treatment. It has nothing to do with the invasion, it's just his own special brand of entitlement mentality.

Right now the trickle of illegal immigrants is in the tens of thousands. Wait a month or two when they find out we are providing housing, food and medical care at no cost to them. It will increase to hundreds of thousands per month.
They already know this though Dennis. It's been happening for a decade or decades. HBO made a movie about it some five years ago. It sparked little debate back then but now this is suddenly an issue?

I'm not defending or supporting it but just stating that if we think this is a new phenomenon, we kidding ourselves.

No, its not new. However the magnitude and overt complicity of our government is new. At least they used to try and hide it some.
Oh, I don't know bout that.

We had more than 86,000 Cubans come here in May 1980 alone.
The coast guard was tasked with helping them arrive safely.

Those were reliably Republican votes though so yeah, that was different.

Well, I count that toward learning something new every day. Thanks Hobbes.
Now, could you work on the sarcasm a little bit?

I can only imagine what you would have said had Reagan been president at the time.

I don't remember it being that controversial at the time.
Mostly pics of refugees fleeing Cuba in small boats that weren't seaworthy.
Some hanging on to floating pieces of debris.

There was a bit of blaming and finger pointing later when it came out that Castro had emptied the jails of criminals as well as political prisoners.
Everything is much more political these days.
I suspect we have more pot stirrers these days.
