I will try and get pics posted and story up Wednesday. I was on a hunting camp near Ardmore for the 4 days (including set up) and broke camp and cleaned up yesterday. Then I drove a total of 375 miles to gather up blinds NW of Mangum, and North of Altus and then back home. I worked all day today then cleaned a truck load of firearms and have an OYHP board meeting tomorrow night.

I want to thank all of our volunteers and supporters that make it all possible. Every year, I am humbled at the generosity of landowners, and volunteers.

A first this year for me, was a mother who was terrified of guns, and a lady that was invited by a friend to help cook that was scared of guns. Before weekend end, we had both shooting rifles and handguns. It was an awesome weekend that really fuels the fire!

When did Roosta slip back in under the cover of darkness? I cannot find words to describe how much help Sticky provided. He was an army of 1. My volunteers did a stellar job of getting everything done. The food was outstanding and everyone may have gained a couple of pounds. We had a guide that came all the way from Wyoming to help us. She was an amazing woman who holds 5 world record bow kills. The woman surprised everyone at the Saturday night Reflection Hour by playing "Amazing Grace" on her bagpipes. She was an inspiration to all of the mothers and daughters on our hunt. She has assured us that she WILL be back next year to guide and mentor. A representative from Bass Pro Shop OKC spent most of the day Friday with us and was speechless about the OYH program and vows to be back next year to spend more time. Check out the BPS facebook account for more photos of the SE region hunt. Finally, the Director for the Texas Youth Hunting Program spend several days with us and has offered to invite youth hunters to Texas to join in their program. In addition, the TYHP has offered to provide a weekend intensive training session for our board and volunteers. We have additional ranches that we are working with in preparation for coming on line in 2015. I am very proud of all the men and women volunteers that came together, unselfishly, to make this hunt happen. God is working thru you to make this program a success.

Roosta - You will be expected back at your post next year with Sticky, so that some more gnats get in your eyes ;)

Respectfully,

Deer Slayer

Wait just a minute. Who is that man in the chocolate chip camos? How did he get in the pictures? The lady in the middle of the 5 women is Marti Mace, 5 time world record holder with a bow, from Wyoming. If you want to read about a truly unbelievable woman then google her. She was an incredible asset to the hunt. I look forward to her returning next year.

When did Roosta slip back in under the cover of darkness?

Someone had to take up the slack while you were out eating on pizza!

As others said, Sticky you did a hell of a job. I missed not being able to guide for the kids, they were a great bunch. I hope to be back next year, but my niece has my heart and I do what she says for one more year.

I'd really love to see Antlers become the flagship of the OYHSP deer hunts. I don't think you can find more beautiful country and nicer folks to host it than what we have down here. I am a bit partial to the place, but I've never been in a more exciting place for deer season. Sticky and ol Mule Man make some awesome guides, the kids love them. JT was a great addition this year, I hope you can make it again next year. Y'all that don't get to come down here should be jealous! I hope to continue what we've started down here for many years.
