So on the flip side, spousal element and I were shopping around for a new revolver and of course I really liked the Ruger GP100, but did not buy it as I needed to buy a few replacement head of cattle first. I was in the safe a few weeks later and sitting in the revolver rack was a brand spanking new GP100 with a note on the tag.."Knew you would not buy this, happy Thursday". So I asked her why she bought the gun knowing cows were the priority and her response was "It's not like you never wasted money on a gun before, enjoy it". And I have...

I just bought a HK USP compact in 40 S&W. I justified it cause I have 2/3 a box of ammo when I owned a gun in that caliber.

Not that we need a reason to buy firearms, but which ones have you given in the past.

You're not the only one who's done it. I'm guilty for sure of the same thing, most recently (7 months ago) on a .308

Here, but occasionally There.
Well, my first real handgun was a Rossi 38 Special revolver, believe it or not, purchased in California, but back in the '60's.

Then, we talked once of me taking a night job, so we went out together and she purchased a S&W Lady Smith in 9mm and I got a Glock 23C. I wanted her to have more protection at home if I got the night job. Turns out, I never applied for the night job because it didn't pay enough.

Several years later, somewhere around 2008, the wife says that if this one guy gets elected, she is buying more firearms. Well, he got elected and we got more firearms. At one point she had more handguns than I did (maybe still does), but I had the long guns.
