I agree, but anytime we are on a business trip near by everyone always votes to eat there. I wouldn't walk across the street to eat there.
We know a couple that always brings that place up when it's time to figure out where we're gonna eat. There's just no accounting for some people's taste.
There are items I like at Jake’s. Ribs are not one of them. I think it was better 20 years ago than it it is now.
I try not to judge any restaurant 100% by any one item though.
Sometimes I have to clarify people’s standards when they are recommending a place. To often “quantity” is substituted for “quality”. Some restaurants capitalize on this by increasing portion size as a substitute for quality of ingredients and preparation techniques. I don’t care if you bring me the whole fryer basket of fries or not. But, the fist sized portion I eat had better be good!!
For a long time I was not impressed with Jakes, but the last time I was there it was pretty good.

Haven't been to Jake's in 20+ years. It was Ok. Don't know how their food is now.
No idea but I'm hitting Roys next time I'm in town. Jakes is in my past only lol

Also try going about 20 miles south to Smokin’ Joes in Rush Springs.
I was at that point 20 years ago.
