Be careful! Not all Colts are large pin. My 10 year old 6920 and my ~35 year old SP1 are both std pin. I think only from the early 90s to somewhere in the late 2000s did we see large pins.

And as far as reliability. In the mid 90s, I took two Colts to a 6 day LE Tactical Rifle course. A primary and a backup. Within 1 hour after the class started I loaned my backup to a fellow officer after his Franken build failed. These were the only two Colts in the entire class and the only two that did not encounter some sort of failure all week long. One officer went through 3 from his department.
Learned something tonight. I thought all Colts used the big pins.
I'm not doubting the reliability of Colts, just that they are different in some respects.
I've got thousands of rounds through my franken guns with no failures attributable to anything but ammo.

If you are going to start painting your gun you might as well go all the way.

If that was painted for Fat Guys, or even Smash Burger, I would be tempted. Whataburger is what I would get if Wendy's or Arby's isn't close by. :D

And no, not wanting that, just something to break up the monochromatic standard color scheme and not really wanting FDE.

Just remember if you are ever in a situation a lawyer will be crawling over ever post you make on here and the web also. Personally I think the No Step on Snek is probably one of my favorites I have seen. That and Spikes Snowflake. My son saw one of the Calico Jack Pirate ones in our LGS the other day and wants me to build one with it. Parley/Plunder/ARRRR

Many times I start to write things and then remember you can never take it back once its on the net. Its always best to never open yourself up to an unneeded situation and GOD forbid if you are in a bad situation. There is no need to pour gas on the fire. At the end of the day you are putting your fate in the hands of 12 people.
Quite so. Plus I understand that plaintiff's lawyers and prosecutors will go through social media accounts and fora such as OSA looking for statements indicating a predisposition to kill. When I am asked about why I carry, my answer is to STOP an attack, not to kill people. I'll grant that the legal danger is somewhat overblown, but why give the other side anything to use against you?

I'd also be a bit concerned about public relations as wel. How will John Q respond when the media plasters it all over the airwaves that such obscenities on the rifle that you had just killed a child with? Think they won't use it? Think NZ killer. The media used the inscriptions on his firearms to show his evil intent. The same thing will happen to you.

It's your rifle, so do what you want. What I'm saying is not to give the other side anything that they can use against you. I sure won't.

I can understand that. This rifle though is my middle finger to the liberal, pc crowd. Might it bite me in the ass? There is a very tiny chance that yes, it could. Especially with a binary trigger installed. I'm willing to take that chance though. The more we give in and conform to what the liberal crowd wants us to be, the more they will push. In the end I will only shoot in self defense. And as I'm probably more than likely to use my pistol over my rifle, I doubt it would even be known what is on my dust cover.

Well if you’re putting a binary trigger in it, that obviously demonstrates you just want to kill as many people as you can as fast as you can.

Well, got lucky. The FFL that I had my lower shipped to got a shipment of PSA stripped uppers in while I was there chatting with them. So I was able to get a matching upper for my lower. Now just need to get the rest of the parts + the tools I'll need.

BTW, if anyone is wanting a SNEK lower, Crusader Tactical on S Elm Pl and E 101st in Broken Arrow has at least one, plus they have a few stripped PSA uppers as well.
