It's nippy !

As I've gotten to be an old fart I much prefer the sweltering heat of summer to the frigid cold of winter ......if given a choice I'll take 95° over 15° any day of the week.

Well I suppose I would too choose 95 over 15 degrees too.
But I would choose 40 degrees to 95 degrees any day.

A day like we had last week that started at 40° and got up to 70° with sunshine and light winds is about perfect for me.

Unfortunately we don't see many days like that here.

I definitely prefer the cooler weather and Fall is my favorite season, except for the days getting shorter.

It gets more difficult to take the summer heat every year for me. If I were rich I would have a summer mobile home up North somewhere.

Got a decent freeze (29 deg) this morning. Would be good to see a little harder freeze for the late maturing pecan trees. Then a nice long fall for about 2 months of great shooting/hunting weather.

I talked with a buddy in Douglas, Wyoming yesterday during the Noon hour. His low yesterday was -11 and it got all the way up to +3 while we were talking. No thanks. I'll take that 60 to 80 degree stuff.

I like the cold compared to a sweltering, muggy, sun scorched summer. I can always stay warm but you just cannot escape the heat.

Oddly enough, as I get older, the heat bothers me more than the cold. Back in my 20s I worked outdoors. Heavy work, cold, hot, rain, whatever.

Now, I don't mind the chilly, but the heat just saps me.

But, I no longer do the heavy work like I did back then.

This. I can take cold but I can't take heat very well.

Today looks good for function-firing my S&W 986. Got it back Sunday from a gunsmith.

Hell, they done warmed up and went back down now. Next time for sure.
