Regardless if he was running away or not the guy had just fought the officers and punched at least one in the face. He also took the tazer which is considered a firearm in Georgia. While running away or whatever he was doing he turned and fired the tazer at them. Which would be discharging a firearm. This could have struck an officer which very well could have incapacitated them. That would give the officer reason to believe he was going to experience great bodily harm or death. The shooting was justified. This is no more than a political move by the racist DA. All to appease black lives matter and all the other sheep that support them.

And as usual, no mention of this guys criminal past. He was a violent thug that had done prison time and violated his probation multiple times. He physically assaulted his kids before. But they want to act like he was father of the year. I wonder if this guy will get a nationally televised funeral too?

The saint’s arrest record. They should have shot him the second he grabbed the taser. The world is a better place without this POS sucking air.

The perp stopped, turned around and tried to fire the taser, hence not running away but standing to fight.

Maybe that's what the attorney saw, thought, hoped for.

The video is on YouTube, I tried to get the link, but they require a paid membership I guess. The video is from a Wendy’s restraunt and in it the suspect fires the taser at the officer while he is fleeing.

While it is voiced that it is irrelevant whether or not the suspect was fleeing, it is relevant insomuch as the defense attorney who is sticking up for the officer may not be all there.

Because the Wendy’s video clearly shows him fleeing, and the defense attorney says he wasn’t.

The defendant probably should consider a different lawyer.

Doesn't matter. Brooks was a dumbass and fired a deadly weapon at the police. Return fire with a deadly weapon was justified. Brooks got what he instigated.
Yep, he was a dumbass. But the issue of whether or not a taser, that had been fired twice already, was a deadly weapon. Or, is a taser a deadly weapon at all, because the manufacturer does not classify, advertise or sell it as a deadly weapon, and that is who the prosecutor will have testify at the trial.

So, that will be a big part of the testimony and trial.

If there are additional videos, I am open minded to them. Maybe the defense attorney has different videos, that continue on past where the Wendy’s video stops. Maybe the deceased stopped, in a further video, and attempted to get another shot with the taser.

No, he wants to have an attorney who is visibly incompetent because that will be grounds for appeal and retrial after the conviction.
