I agree you do have more respect! It floors me that in places like Chicago almost everyone wears a mask and here in Oklahoma people have no respect for others.

Chicago and "respecting each other" don't go together imo lol. They shoot the crap out of each other everyday, the news only reports the weekend killings though. I'll stick with the okies not wearing masks over that situation up there.

Why should businesses be "regulated" to tell customers what to wear? Around Tulsa there are about 3 variations: restaurants that are closed except for take-out, restaurants that are open, wearing masks, separating people, and restaurants that are fully open, no holds barred.

It should be the right of the restaurants to do exactly that - manage however they see fit. If I, as a customer are horrified and wet my pants because servers aren't taking precautions, I don't have to stay. No government mandate, just two entities; myself and the restaurant, freely making decisions.

But what about being able to tattle on them via Twitter . . . some people NEED to be able to do that.

Many medical sources say masks are effective in protecting people during flu season. I wonder if Norman will enact that requirement for every flu season.

I don't think a mask requirement is a violation of anyone's rights. Don't visit the town in which they are required. If you live there, you have the option to not wear a mask on/in the confines of your own private property over which you have domain. Likewise when it comes to your place of business. If your employer chooses to enforce a city order like this, you can elect to take vacation, call in sick, or just not work if you feel your rights are being infringed upon. Having the freedom to make those choices counter the accusation that mandatory masks are a violation of your rights.

If this was a mandatory order across your property line, in your own home, then we can really the boogaloo troops and storm the Bastille.
