Yeah we’re muchhhh better! We kill here because we’re to lazy to put on a mask to protect our neighbors.

Not we, not me. I keep my mask in it's holster until it's deemed necessary to use, haven't felt the need to protect myself yet, or sneeze or cough on someone on purpose with a random drive by coughing/sneezing fit.

Or mandating frequent hand washing, or eating a healthy diet, banning fast food, etc...More people die from guns in Oklahoma than flu or covid I'm sure...Why are they not banning guns to keep us safe? I know they would if they could of course, but I'm trying to provoke thought in people who only think one-dimensionaly. If someone provably has covid (or flu for that matter) and they are negligent AND it permanently affects another person, then that should be what the civil courts are for in rare cases. But otherwise, people should do what they must to protect themselves without imposing their will on others. You can PROMOTE something without mandating.

It comes back to politics though. While I don't expect a person would willingly spread the virus, I don't expect a person unwilling to wear a mask to be too concerned with how their decisions might affect anyone else. Big heart, small mind kind of thing.

They've promoted masks since April, even POTUS wears a mask off camera. Still, it somehow remains a political issue.

Why should businesses be "regulated" to tell customers what to wear? Around Tulsa there are about 3 variations: restaurants that are closed except for take-out, restaurants that are open, wearing masks, separating people, and restaurants that are fully open, no holds barred.

It should be the right of the restaurants to do exactly that - manage however they see fit. If I, as a customer are horrified and wet my pants because servers aren't taking precautions, I don't have to stay. No government mandate, just two entities; myself and the restaurant, freely making decisions.

How many regulations do you think are involved in the average night out eating in general? Building occupancy code, rules about exits, doors being unlocked, etc. Not to mention food safety rules. Alcohol sales rules. Restaurants do not operate in a manner that allows them to operate however they please, so don't pretend otherwise.

And i'm not saying we need 'more regulation'. I'm telling you what my town has done to require masks. You don't have to wear one outside, but stores are fined if they don't enforce a mask inside (similar to reduce occupancy requirements). Basically most places are 'no mask, no entry'. Kinda like the old 'no shirt, no shoes, no sale'. If you don't like it you can go elsewhere or send someone inside for you. You aren't required to wear a mask here unless you want to go inside a business basically.

And in times of public health crisis, states have often exercised more involvement. What is kinda funny is that a lot of people took to social media to complain about this and talk about how they were taking their money elsewhere. Now a lot of the 'elsewhere' around us are starting to implement the same kind of rules.

Since there are some people with a medical excuse for not wearing a mask, a regulation requiring it seems problematic. Likewise pro-mask people should not give people without a mask the stink-eye or worse.

Masks also make it almost impossible for deaf people who read lips to get by to communicate with the general public; order food, just stuff we take for granted.
