I used to say that when I died, they needed to strip me down, slather honey all over my body and throw me out for the bears.

Now, the wife and I have "donated" our bodies to science. They will first harvest any organs that are usable for others and then do whatever on the rest of the body.

All I can think of is Clint Eastwood in 2 Mules For Sister Sara -
"Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms..."
I think he said that in Outlaw Josey Wales.

In Two Mules for Sister Sarah I believe he said (pointing up at buzzards in the shy) "Look up there Sister - aren't they God's creatures too? I don't mind killin' em for ya, but I ain't sweatin' over em for ya"

Or something like that.

Now lookie-there, TK. You are now going to make me watch both of those movies again. I had also thought the phrase came from Outlaw Josie Wales in a scene after he and the wounded comrade kill the two hillbillies looking to profit off of them.

I've seen you mention this before. How does one go about donating their body? I might be interested in this option.

Yeah, it was Josey who said the line about the buzzards, and I’m pretty sure it was right after he killed the Comancheros.
As Terry pointed out, it was right after he killed two hillbillies. His wounded buddy distracted them by feigning delusions and talking about the gold.

I may have watched Clint Eastwood movies a few too many times.

This is the organization I was going with:

https://unitedtissue.org/whole-body-donation/
Sounded good until I found out that 'whole body donation' is not quite what I thought it was. I thought your body was sent to a medical or pathology teaching hospital (I was pushing to go to OU 😂) so that future Doc's could learn some diagnostic and surgery skills, but that not quite the way it works.

It seems that your body gets cut up into parts; those parts being sold to whomever wants them. The idea that my head might end up at one medical school while an arm or a leg ends up at another just didn't sound 'right' to me - you know, body spread across the country from coast to coast, then whatever doesn't get sold is cremated. I understand that this is a good way to help multiple teaching hospitals at the same time, but it still just didn't seem 'right'.

Each person has their own sense of 'right' so do your research and choose as you will, and good luck.
