Any of you fine folks a car salesman or know someone that isnt gonna make stupid comments or try the dumb number games? I like to do business real simple. Mine is worth "x", yours is worth ""x", the difference is "x". Then I say yes or no. My wife's Escalade has bout 96k miles and our plan is to swap before it hits 100k. The guys I've used in the past are out of the business. We will be looking for something the same size as a Cadillac Escalade ESV. Preferably in the Tulsa area.

Your best bet is to figure out what kind of vehicle you want that is within your budget and call around. Also try out of state dealers. Let every salesman know that you are shopping all over and going with the best deal.

Expensive vehicle.

My opinions, worth what you paid for it. Work the deal on the car, without discussion of trade or down payment or how much the payment will be. You can cross that bridge later. You didn't mention if you're buying new or used. Know your own numbers before you go discuss theirs. Don't get intimidated by the finance guy. Find your own financing beforehand (if needed.) Don't buy into the extended warrantees and fancy paint protection, etc.

I feel the same way, I don't want to haggle. Just tell me your price, I already have checked my trade-in value on NADA and cut my price so don't blow smoke at me, give me a fair price I can live with. If you want my money don't try and screw me in the process because I've been down this road a few times in my life with my eyes open. Some of those car salesmen are real bung holes (that's a hole in a barrel by the way). I know when they are trying to take me and usually I just get up and walk out.

Autotrader.com and cargurus.com are great sites. They'll list both new and used if you wish. Find a one or two year old one and let the first buyer take the loss, especially on a vehicle like that.
