This was a church of Christ in a small town in Fort Worth. They announced this at our worship tonight. I am a member of the Central church of Christ here in Shawnee. This is a terrible deal but I am thankful they were able to stop this guy before he killed more. I checked all the main news outlets and got basically nothing. They don’t want to cover something that goes against their agenda. I don’t know if these were paid security guards or just members of the congregation that shot back at this guy but regardless I am thankful they did it. In my congregation I carry as well as many others. We always have an armed member in the foyer to protect the front. We also have someone go around the building and check the doors and everything. We have cameras all around the building and monitors in the foyer so we can see everything. We lock all doors after about 10 minutes after the service starts. Hopefully nothing ever happens but we at least prepare for it. My prayers go out for the families involved.

That is how it works. There was murder long before there were knives and firearms. But once they were created they became another tool. Whether that tool is used for good or bad is up to the person who wields it.
I was surprised to see that CNN actually ran an unbiased story this morning, with the video of the shooting starting at about 48 secs in. The GGWAG responded quickly, and was quite accurate at the distance he took the shot. That man was aware and ready. I bet his sense of "something's not right with that guy" was going off right before the shooting too.

Can't believe folks are out there trying to push the idea that all because of this guy's background he's a completely different type of gun owner and shouldn't be used to justify folks carrying for protection.

Well of course the media is going to push the angle of the "special type" of gun owner, how else are they going to do damage control when the video shows the truth/reality of normal people? Totally f#'ks up their agenda! It's a shame that good people had to die though.
