My mom used to complain that dad and I carried in Church. This is exactly why. There is no such place of peace anymore. I hope the death toll stays low and very glad someone had the courage to stop the BG.

Just showed my wife the article. I don't think she'll fuss at me anymore. I don't mind going to me my Maker. I just don't want to be called names for not doing all I can to protect myself when I get there.

When St Johns Episcopal church in Norman, OK put no guns signs on the doors I tried to talk to them about it. All signs do is stop some good guys/gals from carrying. Today’s shooting is a perfect example of why it’s a bad idea. Shooter had on a long coat with a long gun. Should have been a clue to someone. I’m glad he was stopped quickly with minimal carnage.

Back in the day, a friend of mine got married at a little church in south OKC. One of the groomsmen was an OHP Trooper, and when we were changing into our tuxedos, I noticed that he was carrying a little pocket pistol. I gave him some good-natured ribbing about carrying in church, and his response was, and I quote, “if you knew where you were, you’d be carrying, too.”

Can’t say I’ve had an issue with carrying in church since.
