Such a brave man fight through all of what he did for US. Then get home and die the way he did. God keep him close. I live about 25 miles from Hugo, If I knew his mane I would look for his grave for you. My Uncle may have served with him in the 504th. Uncle Mick was with the First special service force until they disbanded in 44, He was then sent to 504th.My avatar was my uncles unit that was there, 551st PIB, sent north from southern France (Dragoon) with no winter clothing, supposedly one general was quoted as saying "their paratroopers and supposed to be tough, get them up there", I'd have to go back through the book "Left Corner of my Heart" to see which general. Their Colonel was killed and the battalion so wiped out they disbanded it and spread the survivors out, my uncle was sent to the 82nd 504 PIR.
Edit to add: I found this among some of dad's papers, also found out he's buried in Hugo after a motorcycle wreck outside Ft Bragg in 1946.
