I have some family that loves hunting an area of public land. We go with them about once a year and todays that day.
I have my purple lawn chair and a couple honey buns so I’m going to sit and think about what’s in front of my stand.
It’ll be a fun day though and I get to look at something different.

atoka?

Do you feel we will have an early rut this year?

First of all, I’m hunting the NW part of the state. Last night there were 5 bucks within 80 yards of me. Probably would have pulled the trigger on a heavy mass tall 8 point if I hadn’t just looked at a pic of a 12 point that was standing on the same patch of ground the night before.
They were all together and didn’t show rut activity other than being out in the daylight.
A couple of things let me know it’s close. One, the does quit coming to the feeder, and second, the bucks are just gorging themselves as they don’t eat much when full rut happens.
Just my humble opinion but don’t think anything serious is going to start for at least a week in my area.

Good point Dennis, the does I’ve watched have not been going to the feeder, just cruising by.

Mature 150-160” buck... last year he was close to 180, so maybe he is elderly, anyway I got a pic of him mounted a doe last night! Central ok.
Several day time pictures before with him nosing a doe.
Some
Does are receptive
You know I gotta ask, can I see some deer porn?
