That was a good read. I see pronghorns all the time in western OK and Texas, never new much about them other than them being in large herds during the winter. I didn't know that they can't jump over fences, probably explains why you don't see alot of them as roadkill.

I saw 3 of them grazing out near Shoshoni, WY the other day, so I honked my big horns at them and about 10 more heads poked up out of the grass.

I read that a long time ago, and found it interesting we have an animal that is its own specie and unique in the world.
Never hunted them but I've read that a great spot to get a shot is in a wash where they go under the fences, or tie up the bottom two strands to make a crossing for them.
I still keep waiting for my # to come up in the controlled hunts, or if the population gets high enough they will have an open season.

Season starts today, Over The Counter tags in Cimmeron and Texas counties

Yes ... archery ONLY. And, you can shoot two ...no more than one buck! And, only that portion of Texas County west of Highway 136.
