I remember my phone number from when I was in school and my buddy's home number. (He has the same address and phone number, still). But, have to think about what my cell # is.
Up until late '80s, the phone system here didn't require the prefix to be dialed. All numbers were 5-xxxx. The phone company closed the office and merged the system to Lawton, requiring the 87 prefix. My Uncle (84) constantly complained about how he knew everybody in town and their phone number BEFORE the phone company changed them all.
I like having the cell convenience and contact, especially when traveling. I hate out cells have ended the social interaction. So much good, includes much bad.
