Chinese ghost cities

They are not abandoned; far from it. They exist with varying levels of folks apparently doing new construction, maintenance and civic activities.

Go to Google Earth and enter the names of some of these cities and you will be able to scan down and see the level of activity. There's one called Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China which is very sparsely populated. Just a few cars scattered about, but a lot of construction going on.

There are many others in various stages of completely and occupancy, although I found none which could be called bustling.

The costs involved must be staggering.

Read a book several years ago by a Russian General that defected to the west.
He told of the "ghost cities, and military bases the ruskies had built to confuse the allies during the cold war.
They had Divisions of cardboard tanks, barraks, etc. that the U2's could photograph.
I don't know what the chinese thinking is, but with the new satelite technology, they can use infra-red, and hi-def photography to tell if these are true dwellings, or bases.

Some reports indicate that some Americans are walking away from homes due to the foreclosure situation here, (fraud has been found, imagine that.) and that homes are being bulldozed in some areas to lower supply and raise prices for those remaining.

You know this is still all just such a crock. This bozo in the white house gives them billions so that they can continue to kick people out of their homes. Seems if they needed cash they would be a little more willing to lower payments(at least temporarily).

They are just collecting up homes and waiting until the economy jumps again and selling them a 2nd time at a better profit... That or maybe waiting for obammy to grant amnesty to every illegal that can jump into the country, and sell them to the lot of em over and over with new S.S. #'s everytime they foreclose.

I'm going to say these are decoy cities that can be used as new dwellings if the SHTF. That's my final answer.
