Obviously, there is a reason disarmament hasn't happened yet. We're armed. It's a catch 22. Some day, though, some idiot may try it.

Seriously... the government is organized and can concentrate it's forces as needed on short notice. We, the people, cannot (nor do we have air support).

We don't need to "concentrate our forces." That's the mistake the antis always make when they point out that a bunch of individual gun owners couldn't possibly stand against our combined-arms military. Well, no kidding; that's why you don't go to that battle.
An insurgency, though, would be long and bloody...it has everywhere it's been employed, from the American Revolution (when we used it to great success in places), all the way up to our meddling in the middle east, where ISIS and Al Qaeda have been giving us fits for more than a decade now.
Thing is - 'round here in this country - in this day and age - there is still a gun behind every blade of grass. Maybe two.

Our country's founders did much the same thing (in a totally different era and scenario), but it wasn't solely for the right to keep and bear arms (and especially not to keep "military-grade" arms, which wasn't even a thing at the time). Many other freedoms were also at stake.
Also... when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, you won't have as much support as you think. The older generations (with a general populace willing to personally sacrifice everything for a cause), were nothing like the current one. Good luck getting the "one percenters" to back you up.
