The National Democratic Party officials just caved to pressure about their having deleted any reference what-so-ever to 'God' and deleting that Jerusalem is and always will be the Capital of Israel from their party platform.

Moments ago, a Dem official went to the convention floor and reported that they were amending the party platform to reinstate all the previous language from the '08 platform on these 2 topics.. and it was approved by over 2/3's of the delegates. The deleted language was getting all kinds of bad press.. and many prominent Dems were preparing to withdraw their support for the President over it.

Glad they saw the light.

:) Bob Beckel [a big Democratic Party insider] was laughing on 'The Five'. He said what the party people will do when they want to pass something controversial at a convention and aren't getting enough 'yea' votes... is that they never let it go to a hand vote because it would be obvious if it failed... instead they will hold several voice votes.... turning down the microphones near the loudest 'nays' and turning the mics up near the most 'yeas' to make the yeas sound louder. In this case however, even doing that... the 'nays' were still louder. So the guy just declared it as passed anyway. I thought the guy next to the Arab support sign was going to have a stroke! He was almost epileptic. :scream:
