I own this now after a decade or more without a 45, and after never reloading for one. U’ve been told I might should consider these in 185gr.

Also Gold Dot.

My question on the GD is ‘bullets for reloading or pay the high price of commercial ammo’? These would just be for home defense but seems like if you are gonna reload for cast you might as well reload the GD as well.

Thoughts on either the 185gr cast or the Gold Dot reloading question?

I used to enjoy shooting 45 ACP, especially suppressed... Then I carried a G41 on duty and had to shoot duty ammo all the time. Its significantly less enjoyable shooting 100+ rounds of 230 gr HST ammo at a time, where as I could shoot FMJ all day long and not be fatigued at all. Now I just shoot it for fun, or suppressed.
